Obituary for Vinita May Hawthorne

DERBY – Hawthorne, Vinita May, age 84, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011. Vinita enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and most of all taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother; husband, Charles Hawthorne. She is survived by her children, Debby (Larry) Justice, Brad (Karen) Hawthorne and Margie Hawthorne; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Louise) Agard. Visitation 1-8pm Sunday, October 16 with family present 6-8pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Funeral service 10am Monday, October 17 at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 1335 N. Buckner Ave., Derby. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the church.
