Obituary for Verlin L. Harmon

Harmon, Verlin L., 80, retired Vulcan Chemical foreman, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Visitation 4-8 Thursday, funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, both at Smith Family Mortuary, Haysville, 7031 S. Broadway. Verlin enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and was a accomplished athlete. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Lee) Harmon; son Walter; and brothers Eldred and Vern Harmon. Survived by children Diana (William) Norris, Laura (Stan) Cherniack, Darlene (Allen) Martin, Roger (Cindy) Harmon; brother Clarence Harmon; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Arthritis Foundation, 1999 N. Amidon, #105, Wichita, KS 67203.
