Obituary for Velma I. Long

HAYSVILLE- Long, Velma I., 85, good and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Velma was a devoted mother and grandmother, and successfully raised all three of her children to know God. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald. Survived by children Clifton (Jeannie) Long of Wichita, Rebecca (Robert) Ward of Derby, David (Vickie) Long of Clearwater; grandchildren Brian Long, Tracy Thompson, Christopher Ward, Ashley Reinhard, Michael Ward, Jeffrey Long, Zackary Long, Joshua Long, and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Haysville United Methodist Church, 601 E. Grand Ave., Haysville, KS 67060.
