Obituary for V. June Stearns

Stearns, Vera June (Palmer), (92), passed away July 9. 2015. Services are July 13, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Haysville United Methodist Church. She was born in Harper, KS, June 28, 1923, the daughter of Allen and Nell Palmer (Hill). She attended grade school and high school in Harper, KS, married Dale Stearns of Spivey, KS December 12, 1942. She was employed by the Haysville School System for 26 years and retired as Secretary to the Superintendent of Haysville schools in May 1985. Preceded in death by her husband, Dale, parents, Nell and Allen Palmer; brothers , Lloyd and Leland Palmer; sister Verna Brown (Morgan), sister Betty Scoville; grandson, Mark Stearns. She is survived by daughter Sandy Dalbom, Denver, CO, Gary (Dianne), Stearns, Rose Hill, KS, Kathy (Bill) Hancock, Haysville, KS; Brother-in-law , Bill Scoville, 6 grandchildren, Julie Dalbom, Brian (Shannon) Hancock, Jeff (Jennifer) Hancock, Katy (Scott) Kitterman, Shawn Stearns & Kyle Stearns, 7 great-grandchildren, Alex Stearns; Kelsie & Brendan Hancock; Joey & Brody Kitterman; Belle & Dash Hancock. A memorial has been established with the Haysville United Methodist Church, 601 East Grand, Haysville, KS 67060 and Rivercross Hospice, 251 S. Whittier Street, Wichita, KS 67207.
