Obituary for Teddy Alan "Ted" Whiteside

Teddy (Ted) A. Whiteside, 67, of Derby KS shuffled off this mortal coil June 17, 2015 and has gone to explore that undiscovered country. A memorial service will be held 6 PM, Friday, June 26, 2015, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. He is survived by his wife of 45 yrs. Sandra E Whiteside (Fillmore); son Kelly F. Whiteside, wife Krystal, grandson Alexander of Wichita KS; daughter Carrie E Morrow, husband Mike, grandsons, Connor, Colton and Chance of Haysville KS; sister C Lynn Foster, husband Tony of El Dorado. Preceded in death by; Father, William F of Daisy OK; mother Mildred P (Wilson) Whiteside of Paducah TX. He attended Circle HS of Towanda KS; received a bachelors and masters from Wichita State University. He worked 40 yrs in Public, Commercial and Corporate Television. The last 24 yrs with The Boeing Company. His major passion was play direction, 25 yrs as volunteer or paid support staff at Rose Hill HS; 10 yrs as Creative Director of Rose Hill Community Theatre; plus one production at Wichita Community Theatre. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to support the Scholarship for Rose Hill HS students started by Community Theatre will continue in Ted Whiteside’s name. Contact Shelby Diamond at 316-776-2595.
