Obituary for Paul William Clark

Mulvane – Clark, Paul W., 73, retired District Court Judge, passed away August 12, at home. Born in Pampa, TX. He graduated from Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell, OK. He was a veteran of the US Army where he was assigned as a Special Forces Medic with the 77th Special Forces Group. He graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 1969. He was in private practice until joining the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office in 1977 as the First Assistant District Attorney under Vern Miller. He served as a District Court Judge from 1981-2009 and was known for many fine qualities including fairness, patience, and wisdom. His interests and activities included wood-working, reading, writing, photography and studying history. Preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Bertie Bean; parents, Chester and Lillian Clark; twin-daughters, Marilyn and Madilyn. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Clark; daughters, Sondra (Doug Meinhardt) Clark of Paxico, KS, Bertie (Ken) Johnson of Lenexa, KS, Paula (John) Shinkle of Sanford, FL; grandchildren, Taleshia (Darin Cook) Brotherton, Justin (Crystal) Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Natalie Clark, Branden Johnson, Erin (Preston) Lane; great-grandchildren, Trenade, Ozzie, Sean, Kinzlie and Andrew. Memorial service 7pm Tuesday, August 16, at NewSpring Church, 12200 E. 21st St., Wichita. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market Wichita, KS 67202.
