Obituary for Donald J "Don" Godwin

Donald J “Don” Godwin, age 84, of Derby, retired Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer and retired Mail Carrier, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 1, 2015. Visitation 1-8 PM Thursday with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral Service 10 AM Friday, Mulvane Christian Church, 501 Highland Park, Mulvane. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie & Ina Godwin; daughter, Genevieve Williamson; brothers, Roy, James, Eugene and Melvin Godwin; sisters, Maxine Shields and Thelma Rusher. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Vevia C. “Vi”; sons, Larry Cantrell (Shirley), Wayne Cantrell (Shari), all of Derby, Les Godwin (Leigh), Belle Plaine; daughters, Nancy Middendorf (Lyle), Lincoln, NE, Connie Helm (Martin), Sandy Rogers (Dave), all of Wichita; sisters, Arlene Burnett, Wichita, Marie LaDuron, Milwaukee, WI; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
