Obituary for Charles A. Davenport Rev.

DERBY- Davenport, Reverend Charles A., 93, retired Assembly of God Minister, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2011. Preceding him in death were his parents, Angus O. Davenport and Laura (Wood) Davenport, his brothers Kenneth and Marvin, his wife Ann, and great-grandson Zion Sonny DeTienne-Davenport, with whom he shared a birthday, 90 years apart. Survivors include his son Rev. R. Scott (Rev. Teri) Davenport, of New Baltimore, MI, daughter Charlene (David) Evans, Derby; grandchildren Mandi (Kevin) Ledezma, Matthew (Rebecca) DeTienne-Davenport, and Adam Evans. Having pastored churches in Cherryvale, KS, Troy, MI, Albion, MI, New Kensington, PA, Bay City, MI, and Pontiac, MI, he will be missed by his congregants and many friends. Visitation 1-8 pm Wednesday, October 26, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 1 pm Thursday, October 27, at Colonial Heights Assembly of God Church, 5200 S. Broadway, Wichita. A memorial has been established with the Royal Rangers Program at Colonial Heights Assembly of God.
