Obituary for Carol Louise Morris

Morris, Carol Louise, age 66, retired USD 353 elementary teacher, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011. The memorial service will be 10 am Wednesday, June 22, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Burkett, stepfather, Jim Melton, and nephew, Brent Burkett. She is survived by her mother, Wanda Melton of Derby; children, Jeff (Lea) Morris of Lawrence; Susan Topping of Derby, and Scott (Jennifer) Morris of Ft. Collins, Co.; grandchildren: Riley and Austen Hilt of Derby, Madeleine and Brady Morris of Ft. Collins; Amanda, Dusty and Jeanne Morris of Lawrence. Siblings: Larry (Jeannie) Burkett of Plano, TX and Diane Cornali of Derby. Nieces and nephews: Amy Claro, Holly Burkett, Katie Burkett, Nic Cornali, Lisa Cornali, and Adisyn Cornali. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kansas Humane Society.
