Obituary for Barbara Jean Wehby (Brazill)

Barbara Jean (Brazill) Wehby, 89, former labor and delivery nurse at Wesley Medical Center, passed away June 24, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charles; parents, Albert and Alice Brazill; 7 siblings; and 2 infant granddaughters.
Barbara is survived by her 5 children, Bobbi (Ron) Williams, Cathy (Jim) Cox, David (Gisele) Wehby, Mary (Dan) North, and Debbie (Mike) Grimes; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After raising 5 children, she finished her schooling in 1977 and enjoyed a career at Wesley until her retirement. Barbara was a competitive sportswoman and continued to show her love of sports by actively attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Church activities occupied much of her time. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, but especially loved quilting with the ladies of Epworth UMC. She enjoyed working the daily crossword puzzle, attending Bible Study Fellowship, and going to Music Theatre; however, her greatest love was taking care of her family and others. She can easily be characterized by her compassion, wisdom, and benevolence, but she will always be remembered for her spunkiness.
Funeral: 1:30 pm, Monday, June 29, 2015 with visitation from noon until service time at Cross Road Church, 2139 S. Maize Rd., Wichita, KS 67209. Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Services by Culbertson-Smith Mortuary.
