Obituary for Anna G. Powell Malone (Hokr)

Anna (Hokr) Powell Malone, of Wichita, went to her heavenly home July 28, 2012. Visitation 1-8 PM with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Funeral service 10 AM Monday, July 30, St Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1356 N Broadway. Graveside service 2 PM Monday, Geneseo, KS Cemetery. Anna retired from Martin K Eby Const. Co in 1983. She was born to Joe W and Anna (Svoboda) Hokr, July 26, 1920 at her parents farm near Geneseo, KS. She graduated from Geneseo High School and from there went to Wichita Dague Business University. She married L. Addison Powell, August 10, 1941. To that union, their son Dale was born in 1946. She has two grandchildren, Elton Powell and Lesley Wells. The great love of her life was her great grandchildren; Preston, Tiffany, Katelin, Dalton, Lucky, DeKota, Cody, Kyle, Samantha, Bret, and Tristan. She married Jack A Malone, January 6, 1966, and became stepmother to Jack W and James D Malone and Diane Cook. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Joe W and Anna Hokr; and husbands, L. Addison Powell and Jack Malone. Survivors: son, Dale (Nancy) Powell; grandson and great grandchildren, Elton (Letha), Tiffany and Dalton Powell, Shawn, Erin, Ashleigh, and Braydon, all of Wichita; granddaughter and great grandchildren, Lesley (Chris), Preston and Katelin Scott, and Lucky Whitley, of Leesburg, GA; stepchildren, Jack W Malone and son Michael, of Arlington, TX, James D (Rene) Malone, of Clearwater, IA, sons Aaron & Benton, and Diane Cook and family, of Wichita. Memorials have been established with: St Paul’s UMC, 1356 N Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214, and the Klothes Kloset, 402 E. 2nd St., Wichita, KS 67202-2504
