Hitch, Cheryl D., 58, a dedicated mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, July 16th, 2017. Cheryl was born to Patrick and Marguerite Elliott on August, 27, 1958 and was employed as a secretary since 1998 at Wichita USD 259. Cheryl resided on German street in Haysville, KS, for over thirty years where she raised her son Ryan Unruh and her daughter Heidi (Hitch) Laake. Cheryl loved to hit the casino or the mall with friends or family and spent the majority of her time planning events and spending quality time with her kids and grandkids. Cheryl was a great mother that cared for many kids in the community and worked hard to provide a loving home for her kids and their friends. She will be remembered as a longtime citizen of a small community that appreciated her kindness, her beautiful smile and bright blue eyes that ignited at the sight of her children and granddaughters.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her Father, Patrick Elliott; Mother, Marguerite Burdge; Sibling, Barbara Elliott. She is survived by her Son, Ryan (Sarah) Unruh; Daughter, Heidi (Lance) Laake; Grandchildren, Kaelie, Skylie and Brylie Laake; Siblings, Mark Elliott, Mike (Karen) Elliott, Patricia Elliott, Terry Schulze.
Services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Parish 1830 West Grand Avenue Haysville, Kansas 67060. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:00 am, July 21, 2017 followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Valley State Bank 5310 S Broadway St, Wichita, KS 67216 and made payable to Cheryl Hitch.
