Mulvane - Ross, Wilma Marie

Age 97, passed away Wednesday, March 28th, 2018 in Emporia, Kansas. Wilma was born on July 7, 1920 in Abilene, Kansas. She graduated from Kansas State Agricultural College with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. Shortly after marrying, Wilma and husband Millard Ross, moved to Mulvane, Kansas, where they purchased and ran The Mulvane News for nearly two decades. Wilma was a member of the Mulvane United Methodist Church, and many other groups including the United Methodist Women, PEO, Mulvane Federated Women's Club; and with husband Millard, held the title of Mulvane Old Settlers King and Queen. She was an excellent cook, and will be remembered for her warmth and hospitality. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., April 2, 2018 at Mulvane United Methodist Church, Mulvane, Kansas. Graveside service will follow in Abilene Cemetery, Abilene, Kansas, at 3:00 p.m. Wilma is preceded in death by husband, Millard Ross; parents, Frederick and Esther Staehli; and son-in-law, Michael Montgomery. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Shelly Montgomery; son, Kevin (Nancy) Ross; grandchildren, Christina Montgomery, Philip (Holly) Montgomery, Rebecca Montgomery, Justin (Michelle) Ross, Laura (Jeremy) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Lydia, Malachi, Owen, Michael, Aaron, Ethan, Eli, Felicia, Rachel and Jordyn.
