Bill Walker

William Andrew Walker, Jr., 86, passed away on April 1, 2025 in Wichita, KS. He was born on August 23, 1938 in Columbus, KS to parents William and Elsie Vale Walker.

William attended Columbus High School and went on to graduate from Kansas State College of Pittsburg in 1963 with a Master of Science in Mathematics. He went to work at Boeing as a Computer Science Engineer from 1962 until 2000.

William enjoyed spending time with his family, shooting pool, everything about computing,

watching and playing sports, and working math and logic problems.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Penelope Dawn McFerron Walker, and son-in-law Vincent Todd Edwards.

William is survived by children, Jeffery (Roxane) Walker and Shelley Edwards; grandchildren, Kristopher Kirtley, Anthony (Hanna), Weston, Jacob and Vance Edwards, and Stephanie Walker; siblings, Rose Fogler, Hilda Bunch-Parrish, Loretta Saia, and Frank Walker.

Visitation on April 9th at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Road, Derby, KS from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

Visitation on April 11th at Derfelt Mortuary, 132 E Pine Street, Columbus, KS from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, followed by funeral service at 1:00 pm with Jim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Carl Junction Cemetery.
