William "Sonny" Helton

William Nathan "Sonny" Helton, 69, devoted husband, loving father, and very proud grandfather, passed away Saturday, October 28th, 2017. He was born February 24th, 1948 to William and Mary (Pierce) Helton in Bristol, TN. Sonny served in the US Army 815th Combat Engineer Battalion in Vietnam and retired from the 384th Civil Engineering Sq (SAC), McConnell AFB in 1989. Forced into retirement from the Boeing Employees Association as a Lake Store Manager in 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Stephenson. Sonny is survived by his wife, Linda (Davis) Helton; sons, Michael Helton, David (Michelle) Helton; grandchildren, David Allen, Austin Daniel, and Kylee Alexandra; sisters, Toni Dickey and Debbie Stephenson. He was loved by Tony and Linda Lashinski, David Stoudt, Mike and LeeAnn Berry, Earl and LeLa Haggard, and many more friends and family. Memorial Service: 1 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037.
