William Darrick Darling

William D. Darling, 54, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in the presence of his family. He was born to William “Bill” and Beverly Darling on September 18, 1963. Derrick is a graduate of Derby Senior High School class of 1982. An entrepreneurial of many trades, avid collector of Dallas Cowboys memorable, NASCAR fan, music enthusiast, and sports cards collector. He is preceded in death by his father, William V. Darling; grandparents Loren and Viola Lunsford, and Wilber and Villa Darling. Derrick is survived by his mother Beverly A. Darling of Derby, Kansas; sisters Darlene Knight of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Donna Lee (Bennie); brother David Darling (Cassie) of Derby, Kansas, and “Reggee” his dog and faithful friend, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 1-8pm, family greeting 5-7pm Friday evening; Funeral 2pm Saturday, March 3rd both at Smith Mortuary – Derby, 1415 N. Rock Rd. His interment is at White Chapel Memorial Gardens of the Last Supper, 1806 N. Oliver Ave, Wichita, Kansas 67208.
