DERBY – Cornwell, William A. “Bill”, age 80, retired Wichita Police Department, Deputy Chief, and Cessna Aircraft, Security Manager, passed away, Monday, September 13, 2010. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, funeral service 10 AM Thursday, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd, Derby. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, James A. & Olive (Law) Cornwell; sister, Barbara Bradfield; brother, Jimmy Cornwell, and a niece Melissa Messinger. Survivors: wife, Joyce; son, Bill (Pam) Cornwell, Wichita; daughters, Joan (Don) Adkisson and Janet (Allan) Sherman, all of Derby; sister, Roberta (George) Dunn, Renton, WA; grandchildren, Brendan and Brian Cornwell, Nicole and Brent Adkisson and Vanessa Sherman; nephews, Gerry (Janie) Bradfield, Andover, George (Nancy) Dunn, Jr., Peter Dunn, all of Renton, WA; niece, Stephanie (John) Saven, Portland, OR; 7 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-niece.
