William C. Bennett

Bennett, William C., 84, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014. Visitation Monday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with family present 6 to 8; funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. William had a passion for cars and airplanes, and enjoyed square and round dancing. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason who had received his 50 year pin. Preceded in death by wife Georgia and sister Donna Witt. Survived by children Jocy (Dale) Prochaska, Mulvane; Scott (Laraine) Bennett, Colorado Springs; Jody L.A. (Lary) Sheffert, Texas; Curtiss Bennett, Arkansas City; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and close friend Mary McQueary. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn, Derby, KS 67037.
