Wayne Richard Nunn Jr.

Wayne Richard Nunn, Jr. 68, was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 19, 1958 to Wayne Richard Nunn, Sr. and Barbara Ruthann Williams. He passed away on August 11, 2026.

Wayne (Richard) attended several different primary and secondary school's through the 8th grade where he left school to go to work. His 1st job at the age of 14 was throwing the newspaper. He also did dishwashing and bussing tables when he was younger. He worked in the foundry, was a manager of a few stores for Rapid Lube & Oil. He worked at Safeway Mart processing until they closed. He did many odd jobs to take care of his family before taking a job at the City of Wichita where he retired after 30 years on January 2021.

Wayne (Richard) loved his family and wife of nearly 50 years more than anything. He enjoyed rock music and playing in the band, Justified. He liked doing crafts with the grandkids, liked rock painting & Boy Scouts.

When the boys were younger and played baseball he served several years on the board of Directors for the Southwest Boys Club as field manager, head of umpires and vice president. He served as a Boy Scout leader when his grandson wanted to join Cub Scouts. He was a foster Dad to many children over 23 years and adopted a few along the way that he loved like his own. He was loved by many that he touched and will be greatly missed.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lorie Nunn; Children, Marion Ortiz, Amy McDonough, Colby (Krista) Nunn, Ericka (Frank) Ngo, Nikolas Ngo-Nunn, Charlie Nunn, Steven Martinez, Krista Martinez; grandchildren, Amber (Tyler) Ackley, Kevin Williams, Taylor Williams, Jennifer Winkler, Chase (Erica) Nunn, Jessica McDonough, Shae Iverson, Dayn (Kylie) Iverson, Jacob (Unique) Nunn, Joclynn McDonough, Kenslei Nunn, Lucas Nunn, and Carly Nunn; great-grandchildren, Serena, Kevin Jr, Lilith, Macy, Ivey, Theodore, Khamaya, and Jade; siblings, Jim, Mike, David, Carol, Leann, Nancy, Pam, Waynette, Clifford III.

Preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Nunn; grandson, Christian Nunn.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at Prairie Trail Cowboy Church 8552 S Broadway, Haysville, KS 67060.
