W Kent Myer, 76, passed away April 13, 2025. He was born October 28, 1948 to Charles and Maxine Myer in Arkansas City, KS.
Kent proudly served his community as a Wichita police officer until his retirement, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and all who knew him. He carried himself with quiet strength, integrity, and a deep sense of duty. A passionate motorcyclist, Kent loved the freedom of the open road on his Harley Davison. His adventurous spirit and his smile made him a friend to many. Above all else, Kent was a devoted family man. He cherished his children, and his love extended even further to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Preceded in death by his parents, mother in law Marjorie Kreller, son JR Myer, daughter Tabatha Wade; siblings, Vincent and Doc Myer and great granddaughter, Everlee. Survivors include his wife Kathi; children, Michael Kelly Myer, Julia Tracy (Thomas) Edwards, Adrianna (Justin) Grube; Nicolaus (Candice) Wade and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Memorial service is 11:00am Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS 67037.
