Wanda Lee Klein

Wanda Lee (Archer) Klein, 96, passed away Sunday, August 18th, 2024. She was born April 28th, 1928 to parents, Nolen and Mary Sullins, in Gotebo, Oklahoma.

Preceded in death by her first husband, John Calvin Archer; siblings, Bernice Sullins, Carl Sullins and Jane Pridemore. Survivor relatives include her devoted husband, Griff Klein; loving daughter, Carol Jean Archer; grandchildren, Jon Darbyshire, Larry Darbyshire and Carey Darbyshire, and their spouses; 6 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and her surviving siblings, Leroy Sullins, his wife Inez, and Lucille Ernst.

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Wanda also worked outside of the home in her earlier years as a bookkeeper at Bank IV, (now known as Bank of America) for 30 years. She was a good friend to her co-workers and had an eye for detail in her work.

Wanda had boundless energy, and was a caring person, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a very good friend. She loved the Lord and her family. God blessed her with the gift of hospitality and she used it to the fullest. She welcomed many friends and family to her home to enjoy her amazing home-cooked meals, which were typically followed by a rousting game of cards.

Wanda was devoted to her church, teaching Bible School, Sunday School, volunteered on the Hospitality Committee, and served as a greeter until she was well into her 90s.

Her joy was evident in her love of family and the Lord, and she did not miss an opportunity to share about Jesus. She had an intuitive sense regarding individuals and their needs, and always tended to them with love and kindness when they needed it most. She has left a legacy of wonderful memories and love, which will comfort her family and friends in the days ahead. We know this is not goodbye - it is see you later.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 at the 1st Baptist Church of Haysville, 125 S Delos Ave, Haysville, KS 67060. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
