Wichita - Van Ness, Walter Wayne, 84, died Saturday, January 29, 2022.
Visitation: Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Memorial Service: 10:00 am, Friday, February 4, 2022, at Prairie Trail Cowboy Church, 8552 S. Broadway Haysville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Faye Van Ness and four siblings, Velma Price, Leota Davis, CC Van Ness Jr, and Delores Welch.
Walter is survived by his children: Becky Nelson, Randy Van Ness (Jean), Renee Cooper (Rob), Denise Quigg (John), Kim Vogt, and Matt Van Ness (Kim); 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Eldon, Floyd and Lloyd Van Ness, Donnie, and Dorothy Price
Memorials have been established with the Alzheimer's Association, 1820 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67214.
