Walter Stewart

Nov 26, 1962 — Aug 30, 2026

Wichita, Kansas

Walter Thomas Stewart left this world peacefully on August 30, 2026, in his home in Wichita Kansas. He was born on November 26, 1962 to James and Betty Stewart, and was raised by his eldest sister Melodee.

He worked as a machinist at Spirit Aerosystems for over 15 years, although his true love was theatre. On the stage since his days at South High, Walter never left the spotlight. Whether he was director, actor, or prop master, he was the star.

Walter was a caring and loving father to his 3 children Winona, Graydon, and Margaret. He is survived by his children, as well as all of his siblings Melodee, Jimmy, John, Joseph, and Elizabeth, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all miss him dearly.

There will be a casual service to celebrate the man who was Walter Thomas Stewart on October 11, 2026, from 2-6 pm at The Artichoke Sandwich Bar, located at 811 N Broadway Ave. Friends and family are invited to stop by and pay their respects.

Walter was strong and funny, brave and smart. He had a personality that filled the room and his loss is felt greatly by those who knew him.

Rest in peace, papa. Your memory will live with us forever.
