Walter "Gene" Kruckenberg

Walter Eugene Kruckenberg passed away June 20th, 2024, at 84 years of age after a long battle with cancer. Known as Gene to his friends, he was a long-time farmer in Isabel, KS. Over the years he raised pigs, cattle, chickens, and horses, as well as farming corn, soybeans, sunflowers, and wheat. A major accomplishment in Gene’s life was owning his own oil company. He did business all over the Isabel, Nashville, Pratt, and Medicine Lodge areas. He was a long-time member of the Nashville Lutheran Church.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Bessie Kruckenberg and daughter Brenda Newman. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Kruckenberg of Joplin, Mo, Wesley and wife Kama Kruckenberg of Edmond, Ok , as well as brother Harold and wife Sharon Kruckenberg of Douglas, Ks.

Gene has through Brenda, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Linda and husband Curtis Nutter of Gainesville, Fl with their four boys: Elijah, Gabriel, Malachi, and Azariah. Crystal and husband Brandon Bryant of Enid, Ok with their five children: Cooper, Asher, Oliver, Elisa, Joelle. Kyle Newman of Wichita, Ks.

Gene has through Jerry, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Amanda Cramer of Joplin, Mo with her three daughters: Katlin, Jamie, Abigail. Katlin has a daughter Samariah. Abbigail has a daughter Adalynn and a son Zahmir. Amber and husband Ben Lucero of Joplin, Mo with their two sons Clayton and Jymie. Angelee Michele Bain of El Dorado Springs, Mo with her two daughters Lauren, and Lydia. Hannah Iva Mae Bain of El Dorado Springs,Mo with her son Jordyn.

Gene has through Wesley and Kama, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lacheź and husband Calvin English of Edmond, Ok with three children: Tyree, Aliyah, and Tré. Bryndal and husband Brandon Ballard of Madill, Ok

Visitation: June 27th ,2024, from 6 to 8 at Smith Mortuary (1415 North Rock Road Derby, KS, 67037).

Funeral Service: June, 28, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Interment to follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
