Virgil Doyle High

DERBY- High, Virgil Doyle, 92, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011. Visitation 1-8 Monday, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 2 pm Tuesday at Church of Christ, 225 N. Derby St., Derby. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Dovy (Loftis) High; four brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Ava Rose (Johnson) High; sons Doyle High, Douglass, KS; Danny (Shelle) High and Lowell D. (Dana) High, all of Wichita; grandchildren David, Kim, James, Dean, Aimee, Meaghan, and Kameron; and nine great-grandchildren. Besides spending time with his family, Virgil loved to bowl, play pool, fish, and play his guitar. Memorials have been established with Derby Senior Center, 611 N.
