Verna Maxine Biggs DePriest, age 98, raised in Potwin, Kansas, passed away May 3, 2016. Visitation 1-8pm; family greeting 5-7pm Tuesday, May 10th at Smith Mortuary- Derby, 1415 N. Rock Road. Funeral 10am Wednesday, at First Baptist Church,1020 N 2nd Ave, Mulvane, KS 67110. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Saddie Biggs; husband, John Taylor DePriest; sons, John Taylor DePriest Jr. and James DePriest; brother, Harold Biggs. Survivors include: children, June DePriest, Joyce (John) Penrod, Ronald (Vann) DePriest; Alta Jones; Frank (Haidee) DePriest; Cordelia (Bill) Thomas; 19 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren. Memorial: The Villa Maria, 116 S. Central Ave, Mulvane, KS 67110.
