Velma L. Stafford, 82, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018. She was born September 29, 1935 to Sidney and Jewel (Patterson) McFadden in Vian, OK. Velma was an avid Wichita State University Basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Lee Dvorak. Velma is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; children, Doris M. Sesock and Terry (Sarah) Stafford; grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) Sesock, Thomas (Deree) Stafford, Laura (Kirk) Whitehead, Leah Stafford, and Shara (Jacob) French; siblings, Charles "Wendell" (Marilyn) McFadden and Barbara Dvorak; and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Monday, July 9, 2018, from 5 to 8 pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037. Graveside Service: 10 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Douglass Cemetery, 1400 E. 8th St., Douglass, KS 67039. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westside Free Will Baptist Church, Youth Program, 3310 W. MacArthur Rd., Wichita, KS 67217.
