Age 87, passed away Monday, August 27th, 2018. She was born in Augusta, Kansas to Ivan and Ramah Hamilton on October 1, 1930. Velma worked as an administrative assistant at American Red Cross and Cessna, and was a lifelong member of Westside Church of the Nazarene. Visitation 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, family greeting friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday August 30, 2018 at Culbertson Smith Mortuary 115 South Seneca Wichita, Kansas 67213. Funeral Service 10:00 am, Friday August 31, 2018 at West Side Church of the Nazarene 2300 S. Seneca Wichita, Kansas with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. She is preceded in death by husband, Lloyd C. Dixon; sisters, Christine Cheatham, Ruth Griffin; brothers, infant brother, Bernard Hamilton, Paul Hamilton. Velma is survived by her sons, Tom Dixon and Curtis (Janiece Baum) Dixon; grandchildren, Dustin Prewitt, Lindsey Prewitt, and Benjamin Prewitt; sister, Sandy Whiteside, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Memorial contributions to the following organizations American Red Cross, Kansas Masonic Home or Starkey Inc.
