Velda Jean Vogt

Velda Jean Vogt, age 84, of Derby, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and faithful servant of the Lord (who incidentally out-fished everyone on the boat) passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Visitation 1-8 PM Friday, with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10 AM Saturday, First Presbyterian Church, 324 N. Baltimore, Derby. Interment will follow at El Paso Cemetery. Velda is preceded in death by her husband, Max; parents, Clarence & Nellie Mae Smith; son, Steven Vogt; daughter, Beckie Vogt; brothers, Allen and Homer Smith; and sisters, Cleo Buller and Eloise Smith. Survivors: sons, Jeff (Julee), of Derby and Greg (Pamela Givens), of Nevada City, CA; brothers, Martin Smith, of Poteau, OK, and Vernon Smith, of Decatur, GA; sister-in-law, Anita Smith, of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Toby Allen, Jamie Vaughn, and Josee and Jay Vogt; great-grandchildren, Gwyneth and Max Allen, and Mia Vaughn.
