Valeta Marie Lyons, 71, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas.
Valeta was born November 27, 1954 in Wichita, the daughter of Orin and Hazel Claybrook. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family watching WSU basketball. Valeta was in the insurance industry for 50 plus years in Wichita.
She is preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Matt Lyons; and by her brother, Arlyn Claybrook.
Valeta is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ricky Lyons; daughter, Amanda (Jason) Cole; granddaughter, Ciara (Damien) Phelps; great-grandson, Augustine Cole.
A celebration of Valeta's life will be held at a later date. Please check back.
