Valerie J. Burgdorf

Valerie was born to Kathleen and John Charles Wood in Wickford Essex England. She was an avid fisherwoman and loved to create original pieces from stained glass and wood carving. She loved gardening but most of all she loved her family and friends. Valerie died peacefully in her home on the evening of July 30th surrounded by her family and closest friends.

Valerie was the 3rd of 5 children. She was preceded in death by her husband M Riedel Burgdorf whom she was married to for 67 years. Her Father John Charles Wood, Mother Kathleen Wood (Carter), sister Hazel Wood, brothers Terry, Barry and Brian Wood.

She has 4 surviving children, Jonnie Burgdorf, (wife Paula Burgdorf), Karl Burgdorf, Hans Burgdorf and Alana Noel. She had 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will be held at El Paso Cemetary on the 7th day of August 2021 at 10:00 am, 700 E. Kay Street in Derby, Kansas followed by a celebration of life at her home in Derby, Kansas. Family and Friends are encouraged to attend.
