Valarie L. Fisher

Valarie L. Fisher, 70, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Many will remember Valarie from her family’s restaurant, LaMurra’s Pancake House, or her years spent as Food Service Manager at St. Francis Hospital. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 5701 E. Mt. Vernon. The family asks that you please honor Valarie by wearing green to her service. Valarie was a class of 1962 graduate of Southeast High, attended Kansas State University, and graduated from Wichita State University. She enjoyed plants, fashion and sewing. Valarie was active in the American Sewing Guild and Project Beauty, Inc. She recently celebrated her 35th year of sobriety thru AA. Preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Clara Murray. Survived by brother Jan (Jacque) Murray; nieces and nephews Jason (Judy Saxton) Murray, Eric Murray, Shane Murray, Tiffany (Shane) Springob, Brandon Murray, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67220.
