Trudy Jo Julius (Harlan), 80, died peacefully on Feb. 1st, 2025 with her family by her side. Trudy was born on June 10th, 1944, in Sedalia Missouri, the 2nd daughter of Marvel Lee (Rynard) and Elmo “Pete” Harlan. Growing up in Sedalia, Trudy graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1962. Trudy married James Dean Burrus in 1968. To this union Jamie D’Anne and Micheline Chasity were born. Trudy moved to Haysville Kansas with her daughters in 1978.
Trudy married Ronald ”Ron” Jack Julius in 1982 and formed the lasting family ties we know of today which also included Ron’s sons, Guy and Ty Julius.
Trudy was a lifelong member and former president of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post #6757 in Haysville, Kansas.
She was an ER nurse through 1986. The family moved to West Monroe, Louisiana in 1986. But found their way back to the Wichita area by 1990. Trudy worked as a Restaurant Manager at the Heritage Inn until her retirement.
Trudy is preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Ron, sister Kay, and brother-in-law James Burgess; daughter Jamie D’Anne Sanchez, and daughter-in-law, Lori Julius.
She is survived by daughter Micheline Wilson, sons, Guy (Sheryl) and TJ (Lilliana) Julius, son-in-law Joe Sanchez; Grandchildren Chad (Taylor), Brett (Melinda) and Blake (Ashley) Sanchez, Brianna Langston (Justin), Tryston Hatfield, James Julius, Sierra Julius, and Jasmin (Dylan) Lyons. She also leaves eight great grandchildren, and eight nieces & nephews.
Trudy enjoyed Travel, Music Theatre, Breakfast out on Saturdays, Mowing, Flowers, Movies, Cruises, and spending time with her family.
Services for Trudy Julius will be held at Smith Family Mortuary Chapel, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby, Kansas 67037 – Monday, February 10th, 2025, led by Reverend Yancy Burgess. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Derby.
A gathering at the Haysville VFW will follow the burial at approximately noon.
