Thomas Monroe Sluder

DERBY – Sluder, Thomas M., age 79, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012. Memorial service 11am Wednesday, December 12th, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Thomas Monroe Sluder was born April 30, 1933 to Rufus and Merle (Decker) Sluder in Hooker, OK. He married his wife Patricia (Pennington) February 11, 1956 in El Dorado, KS. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Isaac Sluder; siblings, Gerald Sluder and Dorothy Schmidtz. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia of the home; children, Lynn (Joy) Sluder of Harper, KS, Glynn Sluder of Derby and Janell (Roger) Smith of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Emily Sluder, Quentin and Quade Smith; siblings, Emma Walcher of Tonkawa, OK, Marlene German of Manchester, OK, Patricia (Merlyn) Sherman of Cushing, OK and Renny (Dennis) Hartman of Enid, OK. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Joseph F. Herndon II VFW Post 7253, 101 S. Baltimore Derby, KS 67037.
