Douglass - Overbey, Thomas (Tom) Lew

87, died Thursday, June 17th, 2021 at his residence in rural Douglass, KS. He was born September 10th, 1933 in Wichita, KS, the son of Paul and Viola (Baker) Overbey. On January 22, 1951 he married Betty Evelyn Schneider who proceeds him in death. They owned a dairy farm for many years. Tom went to work. at Boeing for many years then he went to work for Cessna as a tooling inspector. He retired after 25 years to take care of Rick after his heart transplant.

Thomas is survived by his brother, Don Overbey, TX; sons, Rick Overbey and wife Gail, Brent Overbey; daughter Peggy Hatmaker and husband Mitchel; four grandchildren, Dustin and Cory Hatmaker, Aaron Overbey and wife Stephanie, and Jennifer Calvert and husband Tony; three great-grandchildren, Dexter and Deagan Overbey, and Eowyn Calvert; and their dog Hope.

Visitation: Monday, June 21st, 2021, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Celebration of Life: 11:00 am, Monday, June 21st, 2021 at Smith Family Mortuary Chapel. Interment to follow at Richland Cemetery.
