Thomas Albert Foust
Thomas Albert Foust was born on a farm near Aaron, Missouri on Oct. 29, 1930 to Albert Elmer and Aletha Fay (Broddle) Foust. He spent many happy hours on his grandparent’s horse farm as a child and maintained a love of horses forever after. Later in life he realized his dream of owning a farm complete with a couple horses. He lived in several small towns around the southern Missouri/Kansas border until his teen years when he and his mother settled in Parsons, KS. It was here in high school when he became a Christian.
During college he heeded a call to serve God and this became his passion for life. He graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1955. He pastored full time in Drexel, Kansas City, Ks, and Topeka, but spent the bulk of his adult life pastoring part-time while also working full time for the state of Kansas. He eventually became the director of data processing for the Kansas Department of Revenue. After retiring from the state, he continued pastoring part-time for several years.
Although very introverted, Tom was willing and ready to help anyone in need. He was quick to open his home to any and all people he came across. Later in life he and his wife Kathy served on several missions trips.
Tom loved his family, finding many ways to invest in his children and grandchildren. His eyes were never brighter and his smile never wider than when he was with a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathryn (Nimmo) Foust; father A.E. Foust; his mother Aletha Foust; his beloved step-mother Liddie Foust; and his daughter Christie (Craig) Jacobs. He is survived by his children: Randy Foust, Battlefield, MO; Nancy (Rich) Sundheim, Champlin, MN; Janett (Steve) Woodward, Gulf Breeze, FL; Alan Foust, Huntsville, AL; and Vivan (DeWayne) Mosier, Omaha, NE; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ryan (Meagan), Ava, Soren; Tony (Jenny), Houston, Lincoln, Clayton; Robert (Daisy), Dean, Spartan; Micki; Alyssa (Mike), Jacob, Aspen, Cora; Tom, David; Michael.
