Theresa A. Ward

Ward, Theresa A., 81, retired Boeing Expeditor, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Visitation 1-7 p.m. Friday, March 6, followed by recitation of the Rosary at 7; memorial service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, all at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Theresa served as president of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary for six consecutive years. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, son Randy, and grandson Travis. Survived by children Cheryl (Don) LeFort, Leinda Drake, Richard (Ellie) Ward, and Russel Ward; grandchildren Andi (Michael), Bobby (Jess), Sandra, Megan (Devin), Levi, Tabatha (Brendon), Branon, Ariel, Scarlett; thirteen great-grandchildren; and siblings Eleanor Hageman, Margaret Boone, Herman Mertens, Joseph Mertens, and Charles Mertens. A memorial has been established with Derby VFW Post 7253, 101 S. Baltimore, Derby, KS 67037.
