Terry Allen Brickman was born in Wellington, Kansas on May 11, 1952. He spent his early years in Waynoka, Oklahoma, moving back to Wellington in eighth grade. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1970. Marrying in 1975 to Elizabeth Simpkins, he settled in Wichita, Kansas, where he and his wife resided until his death. He was the proud father of eight children and grandfather to twenty-five.
Terry was an accomplished Master Plumber. He began working for Riggs Plumbing Company in Wichita in 1975, which later became part of the Comfort Systems family. He continued there until his passing. He made friends easily and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His interests included woodworking, camping with his family, and giving them new experiences. One of his favorite times was taking his wife and children on the Cumbres & Toltec scenic train ride in Colorado. He excelled at whatever he did; whether it was plumbing, building, remodeling his house or “ciphering.” He was always thinking of the next project, while never quite finishing the last.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Jake, Jr. and Mary Lou (Pope) Brickman and his sister, Linda Sue Kinyon. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Tony (Diana) Valentine, James (Shellie) Brickman, and Adam Brickman, and five daughters, Christina (Keith) Spain, Charlotte (Jed) Presley, Amy (Alex) Bush, Megan (Nathen) Orton, and Jennifer Brickman.
