DERBY- Muth, Terrance J. “Jerry,” 85, beloved dad, grandpa, brother and uncle, went to Heaven on October 10, 2011. Jerry was born June 15, 1926 in El Dorado, Kan. to Charles A. and Helen K. Muth. Jerry served in the US Navy during World War II, was a police officer for the Wichita Police Department, and went on to earn his law degree from Washburn University. He was probate judge in Clay Center before settling into an active law practice in Wichita. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Janousek) Muth and his sister Mary Ann Stucky. Survived by his three children and five grandchildren, son Fr. Stephen Muth, daughter Jaime (Todd) Poulos of Derby, son Shawn (Miranda) Muth of Graham, Tex.; grandchildren, John J. (J.J.) Poulos, Brad Muth Ashley Muth, Preston Muth, and yet-to-be-born granddaughter; sister Jane Marinoni, brother C. Ronald Muth; nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday 1-7, rosary at 7 p.m., both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Prayer service 9:45 a.m., Thursday, and Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., St Mary Faith Center, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the St. Mary Building Fund.
