Derby - Eklund, Tanya Kay, 44, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Gathering of friends and family Wednesday, from 4 to 8 pm, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Memorial Service 3:30 pm, Thursday, August 10, at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock, Derby.

Tanya was a kind and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture. Tanya worked at Derby High School as a math para since moving to the area from Herington.

Preceded in death by her grandmothers, Evelyn Alspach and Madeline Pinckney.

Tanya is survived by her husband, Michael Eklund; children, Rachael Eklund and Ryan Eklund; parents, Janet Alspach and Theodore Zagwyn; sisters, Debbie (Don) Stephens, Karla (Bruce) Pheiffer; parents in-law Chuck and Carol Eklund; sisters-in-law Vicki (Steven) Keohohou and Sharon Eklund; and 7 nieces and nephews.
