Stephen Marcus Woods

October 22, 1997 — March 10, 2025

Stephen Marcus Woods' life was a powerful reminder that every day is an opportunity to make a lasting impact. Born in Thornton, Colorado on October 22nd, 1997, and passing in Mulvane, KS on March 10th, 2025, he spent his 9,999 days on this earth inspiring others with his humor, passion, and love. As an alumni of Mulvane High school class of 2016, he pursued his dreams with determination, obtaining multiple certifications in Industrial Rescue and Tactical Safety. His dedication to his work was a testament to his perseverance; he truly enjoyed his time traveling the country keeping industrial job sites safe and used his skills to benefit others in all aspects of his life.

Stephen loved big. He loved hard. He loved with every ounce of his being and shared that love generously. He was the rock embedded in the foundation of so many lives, making people feel seen and valued was his specialty. He was everyone’s shoulder to cry on and first thought for fun. His family was his joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Stephen's love for life was contagious, and his passions were a testament to his creativity and imagination. He was a true Disney, fantasy, sci-fi, Pokémon, and Star Wars fan, and his love for anime was unmatched. His favorite activities were spent with the people he loved, whether it was hanging out at home, lending a hand, going out for a ride or long-boarding, playing D&D or Magic, it didn’t matter Stephen was always “game”. He was hard and fast in everything he did; love, fun, work, sports, games… he was “all in”, every time.

Stephen was a true competitor, always striving to be his best self, and his infectious enthusiasm made him the life of the party. His kindness, compassion, and love inspired countless people, and his legacy will live on through the immeasurable lives he touched.

Stephen Woods is survived by his mother Kameron (Kamie) Jones, dad Curt Hoobler, and bonus mom Amy Houston. Grandparents Marc and Susan Jones, Helen Steindler, and Margaret Wathne. His brother Ray (Ashley) Woods and Ethan (Melynda) Ingmire, his bonus brothers Michael and William Hoobler, Joey Knopp, Caleb Seal, JT Ruckman, Garret Weaver, and Kyle McNary. His Uncles Todd (Angie) and Adam (Christal) Jones, and three cousins, and numerous friends turned family lovingly known as “The Goon Squad”. He is preceded in death by his brothers Mason Andretti Garett and Zachary Aaron Knopp and grandfather John Steindler.

Stephen's life may have been cut short, but his impact will be felt for generations to come. He will be deeply missed, but his love and laughter will live on. His time on earth was a testament to the power of living life to the fullest.
