Stephen L. Smith

Stephen L. Smith, 67, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on June 3, 2012. Stephen was a service technician at Hammel Scale in Wichita retiring after 38 years of service. He was born March 1, 1945 to Cecil and Ruth Smith who precede him in death. On December 27, 1968, he and Evelyn Kerr were united in marriage at West Side Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; son, Leroy both of the home; daughter, Leanne Jameson and her husband Brad of Arlington, TX; granddaughter, Emily; siblings, Elaine Backman and Suzanne Smith both of Kansas City, MO., Joel Smith of Wichita; nephew, Michael McDonald of the home; numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation: 1-8pm Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. The family will greet friends from 6-7pm. Funeral services for Stephen will be held at 10am Thursday, June 7, 2012 at West Side Baptist Church, 304 S. Seneca with The Reverend Dr. David L. Schirer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Garden Plain, Kansas. Memorials to West Side Baptist Church, 304 S.
