Sondra Sue Burrell, 79, of Belle Plaine, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 at her home.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Smith Family Mortuaries Mulvane with Chaplain Terry Deaver officiating. Graveside services will follow at Belle Plaine Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pall bearers are Daniel Lanzrath, Alexander Branch, Tori Branch, Laura Burrell, Kaitlyn Burrell and Heather Burrell.

Sondra was born July 17, 1941, the daughter of Noel and Marguerite Naidenoff in Wichita. She was raised and educated in Rose Hill.
She married Eugene DeWayne Burrell on Dec. 18, 1960, in Wichita. The couple made their home in Wichita until moving to Mulvane in 1978. They moved to Kansas City for a short time until making their permanent home in Belle Plaine.
Sondra was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed crafting, sewing and painting. She was a homemaker first but held several jobs throughout her life including working for the IRS, Sheplers, Walmart and as a realtor.
She enjoyed decorating and cooking for the holidays with Christmas one of her favorites. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family vacation home near Durango, Colo.
Sondra is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 2018; daughter, Susan Lanzrath; an infant granddaughter and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Margo Call, and husband, Robert, of Merriam; son, Kenneth Burrell, and wife, Crystal, of Oxford; grandchildren, Daniel Lanzreth, of Mulvane, Alexander Branch and wife, Tori, Laura Burrell, and fiancé, Rob Foster, Kaitlyn Burrell and Heather Burrell, all of Topeka, Maeve Call, of Merriam, Nikki Brown and wife, Dawn, of Miltonvale, Jason Tanner and wife, Amanda, of Wichita; great-grandchild Sammy Branch, of Topeka; brother, Jim Aslin and wife, Lois, of Ankeny, Iowa; she is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
