Shirley Mae Smith

Shirley Mae Smith of Rowlett, TX, passed away December 27, 2018, at the age of 84. She was born August 20, 1934, in Winfield, KS, to Robert M. and Corine (Carder) Price. Shirley taught high school English and touched the lives of so many young people before taking on the role that mattered most: mother. She was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed. Shirley is survived by daughters: Cory Rieken and husband Roger Rieken of Rowlett, TX, and Amy Wampler and husband Ken Wampler of Destin, FL; sister: D’Ann McCann of Naples, FL; grandchildren: Aaron and Amy Clough, Jarett and Aubrey Wampler. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Smith Family Mortuary Chapel, 1415 North Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037. Interment will follow in Douglass City Cemetery in Douglass, Kansas.
