Shirley Jean Colton, age 84, Derby, KS, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Shirley was born August 3, 1931, the daughter of Willis E. and Leona (Loewen) Webber. Leona preceded her in death as a young child. Shirley received a degree from Colby Commnunity College. She was a Post Master in Winona and Oakley, KS and worked for the Postal Service for 30 years. Shirley was involved in many civic and church activities in her hometown, Oakley, KS where she resided for 60 years. She maried Kenneth C. Colton on Aug. 29, 1950 in Sterling, KS. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2005. Also preceding her was her parents, Willis and Naomi Webber, a baby sister in 1932, her sons, Chris & Tim Colton and brothers, Carrol and Don Webber. Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Arnold (Bob) of Wichita, KS, son, Greg Colton (Giusy) of Broomfield, CO, sisters, Gwen Blair (Richard) of Rogers, AR, Judy Allen of Meriden, KS, Ruth Nugen of Derby, KS, Virgina Kay Salters (Don) of Wichita, KS, grandchildren, Kira Bruce (Stuart), Bonnie McReynolds (Joshua), Sara Arnold, Levi Arnold, Kenny Colton, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 1 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Oakley Cemetery.
