Sherrill Conner

Sherrill Leigh Conner (McKinely), age 76, passed away on October 4, 2021. She was born January 25, 1945, to John and LaReta McKinley in Garden City, Kansas. She married Donald Lee Conner in Dighton, Kansas on September 1, 1963. She graduated from Garden City Community College with a degree in nursing. Sherrill was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Healy, Kansas.

In 2016, she and Donald moved to Derby to be closer to her family. She loved spending time watching her grandchildren’s activities and spending time with her Springer Spaniel, Riley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and LeReta McKinley, and grandparents Elmer and Lena Smith.

She is survived by her husband Donald Lee Conner of 58 years, and three daughters - Kelsey Stout and spouse Kendall of Clearwater, Kansas, Shawnda Christian and spouse Keith of Van Alystyn, Texas, and Shanel Angel and spouse Shannon of Wellington Kansas. She also has five grandchildren Brittany, Nicholas, Skylar, Corsen and Ryker, and one great grandchild, Madison. Also surviving her are two brothers Mike MiKinley of Topeka, Kansas, and Rick McKinley of Lee Summit, Missouri.

Services will be held at 10:00 am. on Monday, Oct. 25, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby, Kansas.
