Sheila E. Saindon

July 7, 1942 — April 27, 2023

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our Mother, Grandmother and sister. Sheila Saindon passed away at the age of 80, peacefullly, at Via Christi St Francis Hospital, surrounded by her family on April 27th, 2023.


Sheila Elaine Saindon was born July 7th, 1942 in Wichita, Ks. to parents Katherine Elizabeth Dyer of Derby, Ks and Henry Clinton Woods of Springfield, Mo. Sheila lived in Derby, Kansas until she married Milford James Saindon on August 23rd, 1958 and they had four children. She worked as a stylist and she assisted her husband with his car business for many years. In later years she worked as a realtor and then a CNA before retiring. Her favor pastime in retirement was playing pool. And she was quite the expert at pool. Before her death she suffered the loss of the father of her children, Milford, in 2002, her oldest son, James, in 2017, her youngest son, Terril, in 2006, and her great granddaughter Alaijah Alvarez, in 2011.


She is survived by her daughter Kathy Salts and Larry of Wichita, Deann Smith and Randy of Haysville, her sister Paula Gallegos of Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by grandchildren: Brent Saindon and Christi of Queens, New York, Michelle Raza of Wichita, Cindy Bean of Wichita, Michael Smith of Haysville, Nicole Curt and Oty of Wichita, Tisha Alvarez of Wichita, Brice Saindon of Wichita, Lacy Ivy and Jerald of Wichita. Great-grandchildren: Miya Robinson, Anissa Robinson, Kathy Rose Neer, Xavier Salts, Alex Alvarez, Akeila Alvarez, Xander Saindon, Rylee Saindon, Jesse Ivy, Connor Ivy.


Nieces and Nephew: Debbie Pogue, Donna Sawken, and Bruce Johnson. Aunt and Uncle : Aunt Dorayne Gonzalez and Uncle Duane Dyer, and cousins.


She will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. We will love you come and honor her life at 2pm Tuesday, May 2, Smith Mortuary in Derby. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
