Saralie "Sadie" Palmer

Saralie Sue (Force) Palmer, 89, passed away on Saturday November 23, 2024, at Brookdale Derby, Kansas. Sadie was born July 24th, 1935, in Emporia, Kansas to Ivan Farmer Force and Arlie Virginia (Force) Crookham. She married Harold Wayne Palmer on March 20th, 1954, in El Dorado Kansas. They were married for 69 years and spent many happy years in Derby, Kansas raising their children Jill, Judi, Jim, and Jan. In 2006, Wayne and Sadie moved to Port Isabel, Texas where they spent nearly 20 years living the retirement life of their dreams.

Prior to retirement, Sadie was a homemaker for 20 years before entering the workforce full time as a secretary. She worked at Southwest Grease of Wichita, Farmers and Merchants Bank in Derby, KS and Boeing in Wichita, KS. At Boeing, she took pride in her work as secretary for an engineering team that worked on the B1 Bomber. Sadie loved to sing, dance, shop, grow plants, read, decorate her home, and host family and friends in Derby or in later years, in Port Isabel. Sadie loved her doggies, including sweet Mikki the Mauzer who cared for her to the end. She enjoyed traveling with Wayne, including Caribbean cruises, and seeing most of the United States including Hawaii.She was especially fond of the Derby Woodlawn church choir tour to England. Sadie was a faithful member of both Woodlawn United Methodist Church and Port Isabel United Methodist Church, where she worshipped, sang in choir, served on committees, and did mission work with the community.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, daughter Jill Annette Palmer of Valley Center, KS her son-in-law Jesse Miller of Derby, KS, her parents, and stepparents. She is survived by her children Judith Arlene Palmer Miller Derby, KS, James Wayne Palmer (Marsha) Venice, FL , Jan Elizabeth Todd (Mitch) Lenexa, KS, grandchildren Adam Miller (Jamie), Melissa Benson (Matt) both of Derby, KS, Jacob Palmer (Jennifer) Tennessee, Hannah Drumgool (Ben) Florida; great grandchildren Dylan Miller, Brock Benson, Alaura Miller, Cayden Benson, Ezra Palmer, Everly Drumgoool, Eden Palmer, River Palmer, Graham Drumgool, sister Edith Mahan (Wayne) Missouri, brother Gordon Force (Mary) California, Gwen Elaine Mills, Kansas and many in-laws, nieces/nephews, and dear friends of the family.


A memorial service will be scheduled in the Spring of 2025 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church when family and friends can gather in her favorite season.
