Sarah Grantz

December 3, 1978 — December 20, 2021

On Monday, December 20th, 2021, Sarah Lyn Grantz, loving wife, mother, daughter and sister passed away at the young age of 43. Sarah was born on December 3, 1978 in Oklahoma City, OK. She lived most of her life in Rose Hill, KS where she spent her time as a caring mother to her four children and as a devoted nurse, graduating cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tabor College in 2016. She married the love of her life, Derrick on August 7, 2021. She leaves behind their many dreams and future aspirations as a couple and for their marriage.

Sarah enjoyed the little things in life, such as playing softball, trip

s to the lake, sewing, baking and being around her family and friends. She did not live a lavish lifestyle, oftentimes opting for a cut off t-shirt, shorts, and sandals on most occasions. She made her children her priority, making sure they were prepared for the road ahead. She had many friends and co-workers, all which she enjoyed spending her days, evenings, and nights with. She was a shoulder to lean on and a rock to build upon. She was a lighthouse through the storm for many people in her short time on Earth. She was ambitious and never afraid to tackle any project. She learned how to fix everything; from carpentry to mechanic, drywall to plumbing, no project was too large for Sarah. Although we did not get enough time with her, we can rest assured knowing that she, first and foremost, loved Jesus, she loved her life and everyone in it. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her big smile, and her get-it-done attitude.

Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents; Lloyd William & Marvalee Nell Anthis, Merlin Richard Smith Sr., Evelyn Levada Ruhl Smith, and her mother, Merleta Martha Anthis.

She is survived by her husband, Derrick Grantz; her four children: Jacob Moore, Aaron Moore, Jolene Moore, and Joshua Moore; step daughter Kiley Grantz; her father, Timothy Anthis; her four siblings and their spouses: Jeremy (Shannon) Anthis, Acacia Anthis, Benjamin (Ashley) Anthis, and Lindsay (Nicklaus) Drake, and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 29th from 5-8pm at Smith Mortuary in Derby, KS. Her funeral will follow on Thursday, December 30th at 2pm at South Rock Christian Church in Derby KS.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation in her name be made to the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, or the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance Endowment Fund. https://www.tscalliance.org/ways-to-give/
