Wichita, KS. – Sandra Elaine Huffman (Gibson) 70, Born December 19, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri the daughter of Melton and Nancy JoAnn (Wright) Huffman passed peacefully in her home surrounded by close family Sunday June 11, 2023.


The sweetest yet most stubborn woman you could ever meet. Gifted with a heart of gold and a passion for taking care of others – Sandie spent 15 years working with SRS home care (retired) and really retired from running her in-home day care thirty years later. Sandie is best known for her feisty attitude, over decorating for EVERY holiday, making award winning crafts, and cooking the best cheeseburgers, spaghetti, and vegetable soup. Sandie and Dean spent more than forty years making memories fishing, camping, vacationing, and hosting many dinner parties in their home. Encompassing the true definition of spouse, mother, and grandma, many memories were made on Jones Street.


She was preceded in death by her parents: Melton Sylvester and Nancy JoAnn Huffman.

Older brother: Danny Wright, Little Sister: Donna Huffman, Little Brother: Billy Huffman


Surviving Brother: Melton Jr and Wife Thelma of 40 years And many nieces and nephews -


Sandie is survived by her long-time spouse of over 40 years – Dearl ‘Dean’ Shull (Wichita, KS).

Children (Son) Clifford ‘Jay’ Williams (Wichita, KS) and (Daughter) Angela ‘Angie’ (Louis) Brown (Wichita, KS). Stepdaughters: Deana (Jim) Knoxon (San Antonio, TX), Trina (John) Engels (The Woodlands, TX).

Grandchildren: Wesley (Sara) Taylor (Wichita, KS), Aaron Williams (Fort Worth, TX), Austin Williams (Fort Worth, TX), Cody (Katie) Wickham (Rose Hill, KS), Ciara Wickham (Wichita, KS), Savanna (Michael) Wall (Goddard, KS), Cole (Ceeara) Wickham (Wichita, KS).

Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Leila, Kennedy, Maycee, Corey, Praysen, Axael, Hudsyn, Kayson, Nova, Zoey, Maverick, Kinley, Kamden.

Step-Grandchildren: Josh, Megan, Sara, Mason.


Graveside Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, June 19th, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery:

6231 W 47th St. S. Wichita, KS 67215

Memorial contributions are to be made to St Judes Children's Research Hospital.
